A British man from United Kingdom has been handed a life sentence after it was proven in court that he killed his Filipina wife in November last year.
The Stafford Crown Court sentenced 77-year-old Peter Tripp for stabbing his wife to death, GMA News reports.
According to evidence presented in court, Belen Tripp called up the authorities after her husband stabbed her at their home in Telford home Ketley Bank.
Tripp was even heard in the recording of the same call declining ambulance service and saying that he wanted Belen to die already.
Responding authorities accompanied by medical personnel shortly arrived but were too late as Belen was declared dead due to multiple stab wounds
Investigation showed that Tripp was intending to commit suicide by blowing his house up through a gas leak explosion prior to his arrest. Belen was also found to have previously suffered from abuse before the night she was killed.
Belen was 52 when she passed away. She was a caregiver in the UK, where she immigrated to after marrying Tripp back in 2004.
