George A. Romero would be proud: fans of The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Resident Evil, and all-things zombie will find themselves shouting for joy. Outbreak Manila: Run for Your Life is an upcoming 5-kilometer fun run through an obstacle course infested with zombies and creepy crawlers, which will take place in the jungle-like terrains of Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna in April. Shet, a zombie run? Shut up and clear your schedules!

Participants can either play human survivors kontra zombies and run for their lives, or they can join the zombie horde and run for the sake of chasing humans in return. Costumes for survivors and zombies are highly encouraged, so long as you can still run in them. Equally tempting, yes? Each side has its perks!

The survivors, for one, will be given a belt with three flags that would count as lives, which is why the zombies will be chasing after you. Never let the undead take all your health flags - losing all three would mean you've been killed, which means you can still finish the race but will be considered in the finish line as "dead", which means no prizes. Hence, try to survive it with at least one flag!

The zombies, on the other hand, will be able to run, walk, and crawl in hordes with a Zombie Group Leader in tow. Zombie participants will be dispersed into two paths - the easy way (long route, less zombies) and the horde way (short route, more zombies). The goal is to grab as many health flags as possible during the race, but a zombie is not allowed to shortstop a survivor and take all three flags all at once. Give them a fighting chance!

Capping off all the running and the chasing are the obstacle courses, which will require survivors and zombies to run on a terrain. Man-made obstacles are also scattered everywhere during the race, where hidden health flags and other perks are located.

Here's an important note: survivors and zombies are not allowed to engage in physical contact! That means no biting, punching, kicking, scratching, tackling, taunting, spitting, flash kicks, stabbing, shooting, and all kinds of foul shit in-the-zone participants might be into. Ano ka, method actor? Let's play it safe, folks!

Race towards the finish line and go against time, other runners, and yes, flesh-eating zombies. For registration and event mechanics, visit Prepare all the food coloring and catsup!
