CHR Commissioner Robert Cadiz revealed there is now a rise in extrajudicial killings, with an average of 10 incidents recorded each day, GMA News reported.
“I think that is alarming,” he said, believing that the number does not reflect all cases since not all killings are reported.
Duterte has vowed to pursue a ruthless campaign against illegal drug activities. He also encouraged citizens to join the war, giving them permission to kill drug pushers if they resist arrest.
In the last three days, the Manila Bulletin reported the killing of at least six drug suspects in three separate shootouts in Quezon City alone.
So far, Region IV has recorded the most number of extrajudicial killings with 43, followed by Region III with 31, and eight for Region VII.
However, police records show a lower number of incidents with only at least two suspects killed per day.
Due to these incidents, Vice President Leni Robredo urged concerned government agencies to probe the killings.
