Over the weekend, DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno advised the public, especially those in Metro Manila, to steer clear of public places amid the threat of a potential terror strike, GMA News reported.
"We have to be careful sa Metro Manila, maski saan, maski sa buong Pilipinas, basta sa mga big cities, talagang mag-ingat tayo," he said.
Sueno also asked for the public's cooperation by being vigilant and reporting any suspicious individuals or activities in their surroundings.
But despite these warnings, he said everyone should remain calm so that potential threats can be easier detected and thwarted by authorities.
In line with this, the PNP declared full alert status in Metro Manila where police visibility was increased while various checkpoints were installed since Saturday.
