Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will soon end her reign, but this doesn’t mean that we will be seeing less of her when she eventually passes her crown to her successor this January.
According to DOT Secretary Wanda Teo, Pia seemed to be open to the idea of becoming a tourism ambassador when she mentioned it to the beauty queen.
“Sabi ko kay Pia, 'Pag natapos na yung term mo, pwede ka nang maging tourism ambassador,” she said. “Sabi niya, 'Why not?'”
Although nothing official has been agreed upon yet, Pia has previously expressed her desire to take on the position so she could help in promoting the Philippines.
This development comes after the appointment of actor-director Cesar Montano as the DOT’s
Tourism Promotions Board Chief Operating Officer.
Montano was sworn into office on Tuesday after President Rodrigo Duterte personally appointed him to the task.
For her part, Pia will be free from her Miss Universe duties after doing her final walk during the coronation night set on January 30, 2017.
