A drunk man who was apprehended by cops for allegedly firing his gun in Novaliches has issued a challenge to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
The suspect, identified as Jun Calumpiano, was still intoxicated when he dared Duterte to a gun duel during an interview with GMA News.
"Duterte, mag-draw tayo. Bigyan mo ako ng baril, sige walang problema, bakit ako matatakot?" he said.
Calumpiano also admitted to firing a gun, which he said was not licensed and he got through illegal means.
"Akong nahuli dahil lasing ako, dahil sa kasalanan ko nagpaputok ako ng baril. Ito nahuli ako. Binili ko [yung baril]… Hindi lisensyado yan, galing yan sa ilegal."
The incident stemmed from his neighbors' complaints that he was toting his gun while being drunk and even actually shooting into the air.
Calumpiano was arrested by responding policemen who were implementing "Oplan Disciplinary Hour."
They recovered bullets from the suspect's possession but the firearm was nowhere to be found.
