President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has offered a bounty of up to P3 million to police and military officials who can bring in the top people involved in the country’s illegal drug trade.
In a press conference in Davao City, Duterte mentioned that up to P3 million awaits uniformed personnel who could get drug lords whether dead or alive, Interaksyon reported.
“I am not saying you kill them but the order is dead or alive,” he said.
Duterte also offered a P50,000 to P1 million reward for lesser influential individuals partaking in illegal drug activities.
He added that he will tap the Armed Forces of the Philippines to get rid of corrupt cops who are either protecting or part of various drug syndicates.
However, Duterte maintained that the process in apprehending drug suspects must still be within the bounds of the law to qualify for the bounty.
“Ganun lang ang paraan para mahinto ang droga. Do not destroy our country, do not destroy our children, because I will kill you,” he warned.
Duterte’s campaign platform was built on his vow to end crime, particularly the illegal drug trade in the country, within three to six months from assuming the presidency.
