President Rodrigo Duterte has finally revealed the reason he has not yet appointed a chairman for the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
During a speaking engagement on Thursday, the president admitted that he is having a difficult time finding someone who can clean up what he labeled as a "corrupt agency," GMA News reported.
"Itong Philippine Charity Sweepstakes [Office], it is a corrupt agency... If you would notice, I have never appointed anybody there. I am looking for a killer," he said.
Duterte added that once he finds a suitable appointee, that individual will be given the license to kill to curb the rampant corruption in the agency. "Barilin mo lahat, you have my blessing."
Meanwhile, the Inquirer quoted Duterte as saying that PCSO employees have been making a racket out of gambling games like bingo, lotto and jueteng.
Various politicians have been linked to corruption involving the PCSO. Among them was former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo whose plunder case for the alleged misuse of P366 million in intelligence funds was dismissed last July.
