A priest walks into a barbershop along Quiapo. After he gets his haircut, he asks how much he has to pay. Pedro, the barber, says, “It’s free. I consider it a service to the Lord.” The next morning, Pedro returns to work at the barbershop and finds 12 prayer books and a thank you note from the priest laid in the front door.

Later that day, a police officer comes in and gets his haircut. When the officer asks how much, Pedro replies, “No charge. I consider it a service to the community.” The next morning, he comes to work and finds a dozen donuts and a thank you note from the police officer waiting for him at the front door.

By late afternoon, a senator comes in for a haircut. When he was done he asks Pedro how much he charges. Being truly kindhearted, Pedro says, “No charge. I consider it a service to the country.” The next morning, the barber comes to work and finds 23 senators at the front door.
