Last Friday, December 5, we showed you a poster of Marian Rivera dressed as the X-Men's Jean Grey. According to photographer Jay Tablante, the cosplay shoot was aimed to raise funds for Cribs Foundation, an infant orphanage and shelter for abused girls in Marikina.
People couldn't seem to get enough of the photo, which is why we've decided to give you a behind-the-scenes look at Jay and Marian's latest cosplay shoot! Enjoy!
This is the mahiwagang costume that started it all...
And these are the folks who made this shoot possible. We had no idea Marian's into comic books!
Fitting time! The crew consisted of Badj Galias-Genato (costume production), Hannah Kim (styling), Bambbi Fuentes (makeup), and Bob Cruz and Joe Dy (art direction).
Marian's Jean Grey looks good even without the CGI, don't you think?
Coming up with a costume is only half the battle; bringing the actual character to life is just as difficult. Good thing they hired an award-winning actress for the job.
Jay teaches Marian how to do Jean Grey's "I'm a telekinetic / I will crush you with my mind" pose. This guy's been attending comic and toy conventions for years, so he knows what he's doing.
Of course, Marian nailed it on the first try. Duh!
With a little help from Riot Inc. (CG imaging) and Ghani Madueno (digital imaging), the photo was eventually turned into a kick-ass cosplay poster. Impressive!
And this one's for those who like it #throwback style!
You've done us all proud, Marian and company. Congratulations!
