Yep, it's a trend, one that invokes both nostalgia and LOLs. If you're clueless on what it is then you're probably too young to visit this site, Princess Sarah was an anime series based on the Francis Hodgson Burnett novel, A Little Princess. It first aired in Japan in 1985 and hit the Philippines in the early '90s.
The series became so popular it inspired a big screen adaptation in Sarah...Ang Munting Prinsesa in 1995, which starred one-time FHM cover girl Camille Pratts. For close to 20 years that film was our last, fleeting memory of this daytime TV juggernaut—but that's about to change! Mark your calendars, fellas: ABS-CBN has announced that Princess Sarah will return to local TV starting October 13!
The thing is, Princess Sarah isn't the only blast-from-the-past meme trend that made it big in local Facebook and Twitter circles. Have you forgotten about Marimar's Senyora Santibañez? We bet she has a ton to say about the little princess.
So, you know, we asked her...
Scroll down for FHM's "conversation" with the telenovela world's Twisted Queen of Matapobres, and find out what she thinks of her fellow meme heavyweight. And because we value fairness and equality, we also "asked" Princes Sarah for her rebuttal!
(SPOILER ALERT: a lot of patatas ahead!)
