Thus, concerned friends have started a GoFundMe campaign to help finance his medical bills.

In a statement posted on the GoFundMe page, "Support Magic Mark Beltran," the magician's supporters revealed, "Mark has undergone surgery in Mater Hospital in Dublin. We still hold out hope for a miracle, but doctors have told Mark that the wound on the eye was severe, and that he will not likely recover sight in his eye."

On top of the hospital bills, Beltran's friends pointed out that he will be facing added financial challenges, including obtaining funds for his trip back to the Philippines. Beltran will not be able to work for the next few months.

The GoFundMe campaign statement added this request: "Besides the outpouring of love and prayers, which is wonderful, if you can find it in your heart to make a contribution to his fund, we would be so grateful."
