Gigi Hadid is currently is Milan, Italy for Fashion Week. She's used to being hounded by fans and the paparazzi, but she has her limits. On Thursday, September 22, the world found out just what she's capable of when she's being threatened.
As Gigi was leaving tha Max Mara show with her sister Bella, a man came up from behind her and grabbed her.
The Daily Mail identified the man was as Ukranian serial prankster Vitalii Sediuk.
Sediuk, as People indicated, "somehow managed to evade the sisters' security guards and sneak up behind Gigi, grabbing her around the waist and lifting her into the air."
Gigi was clearly shocked and she responded by giving Sediuk a swift elbow to his face.
Sediuk let go of Gigi and he ran from the scene. Gigi charged after him. Her security team pulled her back though.
In the aftermath of the crazy encounter, Gigi tweeted: "I'm a human being — and had every right to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger."
As for Sediuk, he later confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he was the creepy man who violated Gigi's space. He claimed that what he had done was a "protest move."
"While I consider Gigi Hadid beautiful, she and her friend Kendall Jenner have nothing to do with high fashion. By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram," Sediuk said.
He added, "You can call it a manifest or a protest. This is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine."
Our verdict: He may read Vogue, but he could easily be mistaken for a sexual predator.
