Government Employees Caught Playing DOTA At The Office

They won't be respawning at work in the meantime

Video games are fun—it's a good old hobby most of us enjoy—but there will always be separate times for work and play.

Two government employees in Mandaue City had to learn this the hard way after they were fired from their jobs for mixing leisure with work.

Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing posted a picture online that showed the two playing the dated yet still highly popular Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) video game.

"This is a picture of City Hall employees inside the Planning Office and why they just lost their jobs," said the mayor.

According to GMA News, another staff member caught the two and took a snap while they were at it.

The photo was then sent to Quisumbing's chief of staff who subsequently informed the mayor of the incident.


Some netizens commended the mayor's move, saying he made the right decision since the sacked employees didn't seem interested to work.

Next time you plan on playing games in the office, especially during work hours, better think twice because losing a job over it is definitely not worth it.
