One outlandish campaign going around on Facebook as of late involves the potential public disgrace of TopGear Philippines editor-in-chief Vernon Sarne, all for the sake of marking a special occasion in his magazine.
In line with their 77th issue coming out in August, the team has launched an online campaign that pits the chief in an ugly underline: if the TopGear Facebook fan page garners the 77,000 “likes” on or before August 31, Vernon will reportedly have his own personal car painted pink. And the man will drive it that way for a good year.
Unfortunately for the guy, a good number of motoring bloggers have already picked up on his dare, and people are responding fast. Vernon’s Facebook page has since gotten a number of posts holding different variants of pink vehicles, with the man responding, “I seriously hope they won’t succeed.”
We sure hope they do, so this is where we help out: we strongly encourage the FHM nation on Facebook – all awesome 597,000 of you – to proceed to www.facebook.com/topgearphilippines and hit the “like” button on the page. Heck, go ahead and tell your friends while you’re at it. Kaya natin 'yan!
So with the voting for this year’s FHM 100 Sexiest Women all but done, we can pry our epic voting power this week as a means to emasculate the chief’s ride. If you’re still in need of more convincing, check out the viral video TopGear Philippines made for their campaign below:
