You can tell a lot about ?a man from his handshake. If it's weak then the person possibly lacks confidence (or that he hasn't eaten yet) while an awkward one could mean he isn't particularly fond of handshakes.
If it's firm though, then you have yourself a prime candidate for a man's man (at least that's what some would say). This is what you want.
So, we asked Harley Street psychologist at Pinnacle Therapy (an institution which specializes in psychotherapy and counseling), Richard Reid, to show you how to nail a handshake guaranteed to turn you into the office champ.
1) USE YOUR BODY
"Stand up, and keep your hands out of your pockets. Use eye contact and ?smile warmly, but briefly."
2) GET IN POSITION
"Ensure your hand is neither palm down nor palm up. Angle your thumb towards the ceiling."
"Keep your palm flat and make contact diagonally, wrapping your fingers around the person’s hand."
"Lock your thumb down and squeeze firmly, mirroring the other person’s pressure. Shake from your elbow, giving it two or three pumps, then release."
