How Twitter Fought Over De Lima's Warrant Of Arrest

In a rather predictable move, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204 has ordered the arrest of Senator Leila de Lima on the alleged grounds that she had a hand in the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison.

"I am expecting (the issuance of the arrest warrant) because we have filed a strong case against the Secretary-Senator and in her defense, she did not file a counter affidavit," Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre told ANC, calling it "inevitable."

Judge Juanita Guerrero, who was chosen over Amelia Fabros-Corpuz and Patria Manalastas-de Leon during the raffle of De Lima's three criminal cases, included the senator's former bodyguard-lover Ronnie Dayan (rumored bagman), and former Bureau of Corrections Chief and National Bureau of Investigation Deputy Director Rafael Ragos in the warrant.

This development comes a week after the Department of Justice prosecuted De Lima for the same accusation. She was defiant of the drug case, particularly on the jurisdiction of the Muntinlupa RTC, before the issuance.

And just like any other political, social media—Twitter in particular—had something to say about the landmark political turn of events.
