ISIS Threatens To Attack Miss Universe 2017 In The Philippines

ISIS has called for its supporters to attack the Miss Universe pageant which will be held in the Philippines early next year.

According to Fox News, ISIS released a video tutorial online showing their "martyr" supporters how to "create a bomb for Miss Universe."

The video is apparently complete with instructions on how to make your own suicide vest and also includes a guide on producing explosives.

It also called on "everyone who can" to join the attack, presumably referring to the local Abu Sayyaf Group that has pledged allegiance to ISIS.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) labeled the threat as something "serious," GMA News reported.

Still, they said the country can handle this especially since the Philippines has already hosted a high security risk event when Pope Francis visited last year.


The Philippine National Police for their part said they already have an intelligence group assigned to monitor developments regarding this possible threat.

The DOT announced last month that the Philippines will host the prestigious Miss Universe pageant in January 2017.
