If it were up to him, President Rodrigo Duterte would rather see a knockout in favor of boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao during his imminent comeback bout in the United States.

According to the president, knocking out his opponent in the early rounds is the key to victory especially since time and age are against the 8 division world champion, GMA News reported.

Dapat knockout, at sana mas madalian. Kasi if it goes beyond the seventh, eighth [round] pagod na yan,” he said adding “Kung masapul ni Manny yan, knockdown yan, sigurado.”

Duterte also shared how Pacquiao always reserved tickets for his matches but all he can do to repay them was pray for the boxer’s success and safety.

Meanwhile, Philstar noted the “Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire, Jr. as saying that his opponent in the undercard of Pacquiao’s fight will definitely go down the canvas.

“It’s never going for 12 rounds. Unless you have a helmet, then you can probably take it. But he doesn’t have it,” he said of his loud-mouthed opponent.

“He can talk all he wants. The big difference is the silence that I have is because of the confidence that I have,” he added.

Pacquiao is set to fight Jessie Vargas at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 5 where the latter will defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) title.

Donaire on the other hand will defend his WBO super bantamweight title from undefeated boxer and WBO North American Boxing Organization youth super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno in an undercard match in the same event.
