If the reports are accurate, you should be experiencing a monster traffic jam right about now.
According to the MMDA, roadwork on the six-lane expressway being built by the Department of Transportation and Communication to connect the South Luzon Expressway from Buendia in Makati to the North Luzon Expressway in Balintawak in Quezon City will start at 10 p.m. tonight.
There's also the Department of Public Works and Highways' construction of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway Phase 2, which will connect our airport to the seaside Entertainment City. Do you know what this means? All hell is about to break loose in the highways of Metro Manila!
Maghanda na sa delubyo!
"We call on our people to share in the burden of sacrifice and bear with the short-term inconvenience so we can build better roads that will ensure faster travel and more productive living in our highly congested National Capital Region," says Malacañang spokesman Herminio Coloma. What he's saying is we've got no choice but to brace ourselves for one of the worst traffic jams ever, and we all better get used to it for now.
But hey, might as well get something out of it, right? Below are some of the productive things you can do while stuck in this monster traffic jam:
Return all the calls you weren't able to take earlier that day. Better yet, give your mom a call, you ungrateful bastard.
Engage in a long and intense debate with someone on either of the following topics: love, politics, or religion. It usually takes forever to win in any of these arguments.
Change lanes as often as you can (because the other lanes always seem to be going faster).
Tell Papa Jack about your soapy love story, and allow him to bombard you with a myriad of reasons why everything's your fault.
NEXT: Just get it out of your system
