After quite a few appearances in the magazine, you’re now on the cover. How was today’s
shoot for you, silver paint and all?
More naked than normal, which I’m still not used to. Ha ha! I’ve been saying all day that this
was going to be my final body paint shoot or even body paints anything; it’s just too much work. It’s really tiring. And cold! Ha ha! I’m usually more comfortable than I was today. I was a combination of sleepy, cold, and hungry; I wasn’t on my best behavior today. If people still think I’m okay despite all of that, then thank God. Ha ha!
And you got to do the shoot with Sanya Smith, your good friend and fellow Zombette.
Yes, I shoot with her all the time. The last shoot that we did together was sort of similar. We really have to stop doing naked shoots together; we’re getting too old for that.
Is this really going to be your last shoot with us?
Well, my boyfriend says I’ve done enough men’s magazines and that I should just let it rest already. I mean, I’m 28 now and I don’t think I’ll be doing modeling for much longer, so it’s a good thing this shoot happened now. Otherwise I would have had to turn it down. Ha ha!
But what would Ornusa do if she weren’t modeling anymore?
Well, I don’t know. There are a lot of things I want to do, I just have to decide on one thing and stick to it. I will miss modeling, so I still want to do things related to the industry, and fashion. I would love to not be the one in front of the camera.
Like what did you have in mind?
Either start my own business or start designing. I also wanted to do something that involves food. I also wanted to paint, I actually also want to sing. I know, it sounds corny, but I want to sing not in the way most people would, like I don’t want to do it on TV; I just want to do it for the sake of doing it. Hopefully when I decide to quit modeling I’d get a chance to go back to school and take a short course on something, depends on what I pick. I would want to go about it the right way so I would rather study a little bit
That’s a pretty extensive bucket list. But surely you’ve already done something you’re really
Ha ha! It’s hard for me to consider modeling as an accomplishment but when I look back and think what have I accomplished, and I can’t think of anything, and people are, like, “Oh, what are you talking about? In terms of modeling you’ve done a lot.” But I don’t want it to end there.
Professional models usually retire to settle down. Is that in the cards for you already?
No, no plans yet, not at all. I don’t even have a dream wedding or anything. I’m not ready for marriage so I don’t want to think about it yet. I guess it’s because I’m still modeling. Obviously when you get married you think about kids, and that’s the last thing on my mind, especially if I still want to be doing what I’m doing now.
But you did say you were in a committed relationship.
I do have a steady boyfriend. I was single last year for the first time in a really long time and I did not enjoy it. I did not enjoy the whole dating thing. It was just confusing and tiring, and when I find someone I really like I make sure it lasts a while. It’s pretty hard because in a town this small you can’t date too many people. There’s a limit; you have to put a number on it or else it’s like you’re dating your cousins already; everyone you know is, like, dating each other.
We wonder what it’s like to have a model for a girlfriend. How are you like as a girlfriend?
I’m normal, I guess. Ha ha! I’m caring, and loving, and…yeah, I don’t know, just normal. I’m just like everyone else, I suppose. Ha ha!
