We all know that the country’s two highest officials are not in good terms after they had a public fallout last year due to corruption allegations.

This resulted in the second highest official to resign from his Cabinet position, slamming the administration soon after. Both have been going at it ever since.

So it was no different on Thursday when both President Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay shared a stage in Camp Castañeda during the graduation rites of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

During his speech, Aquino challenged the graduates to shun all forms of corruption especially during the upcoming national elections on May 9.

The statement could be interpreted as a potshot at Binay, who is currently facing multiple corruption allegations during his stint as mayor of Makati amid his presidential campaign.

Aquino also took the opportunity to endorse former Interior Secretary and administration presidential bet Mar Roxas II.

After the speech, Aquino and Binay briefly shook hands and shared an awkward moment on stage. They then proceeded to present the PNPA's top graduates with the Kampilan award.

The Masundayaw Class of 2016 had a total of 253 graduates including class valedictorian Cadet Felipe de Paz Alicando, Jr.

Originally from Dulay, Leyte, the 24-year-old registered nurse will be joining the ranks of the Bureau of Fire Protection in ensuring public safety.
