Following the discovery of a floating drug laboratory in Zambales, the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief personally came to check out the seized vessel in Subic Bay.

Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa arrived late Monday and revealed some details regarding the PNP’s surveillance on the ship, ABS-CBN News reported.

Sa loob lang ng dalawang araw, nakakagawa na ng shabu. Ibabagsak sa dagat, may pi-pick up na Pinoy sa mga lugar. Route possibly Ilocos to Cagayan and Ilocos to Pangasinan from Subic,” he said.

The 50-meter fish carrier vessel docked along the coast of Calapandayan in Zambales was allegedly being used to transport illegal drugs from China, according to GMA News.

Four Hong Kong Chinese nationals including three first-time visitors to our country were arrested on the same day as authorities searched the foreign vessel. The search yielded a half kilogram of suspected shabu.

Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating whether the suspects were also producing the illegal drugs while on board, in the middle of the sea.

They also want to determine if the seized vessel is connected to the recovered shabu unearthed in Claveria, Cagayan last week, which had estimated street value of P1 billion.
