Do you regularly visit here?
I’ve been here about six or seven times. The last time I was here I just partied a lot. I was here for over a month and I went everywhere: Cebu, Manila. It was just fun because I was done with school and it was my vacation. I also went to Bohol and did everything there: went to Chocolate Hills, looked at Tarsiers.

It seems like you enjoyed yourself.
I liked it. I’ve always been aware of the Filipino culture but I’ve never got to experience it for a long time. When I was here for that month, I think I experienced it too much because I was homesick. By the seventh week I wanted to go home, ha ha!

How do the parties here compare to those in the States?
It lasts longer here, ‘cause in the States they close at 2 a.m. But both are fun. In the States you’re with different cultures, but here it’s all Filipinos, which is okay, but it’s better too here ‘cause you can party all night and hang out afterwards. Everyone just goes home in the States.

Well, which one is wilder?
Definitely here.

Is that enough reason for you to consider staying here?
I would stay if I was a VJ or something, then practice being a registered nurse here. But I heard nurses don’t make as much here so I’d rather be in the States.

That’s sad. What if a Pinoy wooed you?
None of them are brave enough to talk to me. Only the European people talk to me, it’s weird.

Why do you think that is?
I think they’re just shy or something. I usually party with a bunch of guy friends so I’m not really approachable. Maybe they’re also scared to get rejected. Or they think I’m not friendly. But I’m very friendly, especially when I’m at a club. I’m very nice.

But do you like it that way, when they don’t approach you?
Yeah, so I don’t get bothered. Really the only people who bother me here are foreigners. I had a horrible time in Boracay. I had weird, old European guys hitting on me. I didn’t like that.

Say in a party, what’s the best way to approach you?
Just come up to me and introduce yourself. I don’t like it when guys just come up and try to dance with you. You know what I mean? Dance behind you when you’re dancing, ha ha! I think the best way is to just come up and introduce yourself, then I might give you a chance. But if you’re just being stupid and drunk then you just grab my hand, that’s not how you do it.
