It wasn’t the sunniest of weekends, that Saturday before Typhoon Maring struck, but inside the studio where we were cooking up this month’s cover shoot, you could use the same words to describe a fine summer day: bright, clear, hot, and oozing with fun and a lot of buttoned-top-getting-blown-away action.

Yes, Rufa Mae Quinto—everyone’s favorite funnywoman—is back, spreading the right amount of cheer we need to turn our day around. Heaven knows she is just what we need during these times of flood- and dirty politics-induced distress. With a great smile and a little underboob exposure, Rufa Mae easily makes us realize that, yes, life goes on.

Just look at this very touching cover and reflect:

Ah, Mickey Mouse. That lucky bastard.

As you may already know (you guys always do), it’s our Special Comedy + Style Double Issue, and on the flipside is another lucky bastard, Luis Manzano, who has a generous amount of good looks and women-pleasing wit working for him. Inside, the September 2013 issue is packed with goodies that will make you wish you were funnier than you are good-looking, if not both: new pogi pointers from the likes of Alwyn Uytingco, Bogart D’ Explorer, Empoy, and Jun Sabayton (and an explainer by Ramon Bautista); unpretentious wisdom from Ely Buendia and his new band, Oktaves; and five pages dedicated to pretty colegialas. Indie actress Chanel Latorre also marks her FHM debut, while web sensations Melyssa Grace and Natalia Moon prove they’re as real as it gets.

Bottomline: There is hope! Now do yourself a favor: Scroll down and take a look at the scenes behind Rufa Mae’s cover shoot for more good vibes.

FHM’s September 2013 issue is now available in newsstands and bookstores nationwide! Digital copies are also now downloadable at!
