Sam Pinto has been in this position before (July 2010, December 2011), but the FHM team present for her latest shoot was relatively new.
We we're literally asking the seniors in our Boracay contingent how it was working with Sam. She's such a prominent figure with a captivating grace that we don't want to foul this up. So, yeah, we were a bit intimidated by her at first.
Until she broke into a smile upon greeting us.
From that point onward, Sam was just like another member of the group, chatting with us and laughing at our jokes as if we've been friends for so long. Our worry that a star as big as Sam couldn't hobnob with us mere mortals was easily crushed.
Though she was trying to keep things low-key, her sunny disposition was clearly evident during the interview, wherein we came to a dead end a couple of times because of her giggly manner. Now we know why she's been a Bubble Gang mainstay for quite a while...
As for the shoot, one word can be used to describe its entirety: seamless. This, despite the demanding environment; unlike most of the crew, Sam had to endure the scorching summer sun—in skimpy outfits—and the bothersome sand between her toes.
The professional that she is, Sam gamely yielded to every directive by photographer Doc Marlo Pecjo, if not taking it up a notch. The session came like waves crashing onto shore, eliciting a collective sigh of "Tapos na agad?" We were able to retire before sundown.
Just another day in the office if you ask Sam.
Aside from the two-time FHM Sexiest Woman bannering our red-hot issue, we also the examined and reflected on the legacy Manny Pacquiao will leave behind once all is said and done; kept in touch with Ebe Dancel; and hunted down the man with sickest sneaker game in town.
Now, for the shots that are excluded in Sam's cover story but are as important as the ones that saw print—aka the behind-the-scenes snaps—check out the gallery below:
