Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado has been slapped with a six-month suspension two years after a sex scandal of him and his alleged mistress went viral online.
The suspension order was handed down by the Office of the Ombudsman for his "disgraceful and immoral conduct," GMA News reported.
"Wherefore, judgment is rendered finding respondent Edgardo Tallado administratively liable for Disgraceful and Immoral Conduct for which he is meted the penalty of six months suspension and one day without pay," the decision read.
Tallado first got public attention in October 2014 after his wife, Josie, went missing for a week.
She then resurfaced saying her life was in danger and that she didn't want to go back home since learning about her husband's mistress.
Following this incident, scandalous photos of Tallado and his alleged mistress went viral online.
A women's group have already called for the governor's resignation, while some individuals filed complaints against Tallado for causing embarrassment to the people of his province.
