Six OPM Bands that Stood the Test of Time

So we all heard the terrible news: After seven good years, alternative rock band Bamboo has allegedly decided to call it quits. KC Montero broke the news via his twitter account, which was then picked up immediately by as well as The band has yet to confirm the news.

Another heartbreaking discovery burning the Pinoy rock scene, accompanied by the news of Ebe Dancel leaving Sugarfree and barely weeks after iconic rock station NU 107 shut down for good.

Bamboo has been a regular staple in the local rock scene during the past decade, getting serious critical acclaim for their albums As The Music Plays, Light Peace Love, We Stand Alone Together, and Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday.

And if you need more proof, their singles “Noypi” and “Hallelujah” will forever be included in the list of hits that will always be sang on drunken videoke nights. Such a shame, really.

But to any consolation, not all OPM bands we’ve come to love and worship are bound to disband. Case in point, these six bands who, despite having several roster changes, continues to play their brand of music, and good:
