Last Wednesday, 9 March 2011, saw yuppies and 30-somethings troop to Araneta to see their childhood rock heroes, Stone Temple Pilots. A little history, especially for the young 'uns: Stone Temple Pilots is a grunge band, who rose up the popularity ladder with the song "Plush." The song is but one of the hits that their incredible debut record Core spewed out; "Wicked Garden," "Creep," "Sex Type Thing" are the other big-ass hits from the record.
Toward the late 90s, when Rapmetal was emerging and grunge was slowly dying, STP's efforts were met with lukewarm success. That, along with the infamous rock n' roll lifestyle, and the inevitable "creative differences" led them to disband in 2002.
This part right here, you may already know: Weiland went on to join supergroup Velvet Revolver.
Fastforward to 2008 and the band reunites for a 65-day tour. So successful was that they've decided to give it a second chance. They release a super steady record Stone Temple Pilots in 2010 and now we're here nursing a 90s hangover from Wednesday's show.
FHM was there, sure, but following our Concert Survival Guide, we traded our DSLRs for a good ol' point-and-shoot. But the images below should clue you in on that.
