The local Reddit community wasn’t the least bit amused when one of their members discovered a Facebook group with posts that were apparently taking potshots at the embattled TNVS industry.
User visualmagnitude created a Reddit thread where he shared a post from the Philippine National Taxi Operators Association (PNTOA). This further struck a nerve among irritated ride-sharing sympathizers mainly due to the post’s glaring grammatical error and awkward analogy:
These other posts from the same group also seem to discreetly throw shade at the TNVS industry amid their ongoing dilemma with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
'Legit Franchise Owner' says it all
Reshared with hints of sarcasm
As expected, Redditers who support Grab and Uber clapped back at PNTOA’s posts. Check out these nasty comments:
Someone can’t get over that faulty grammar
Self-praise pa more
The Interview reference FTW
Memes and angry comments aside, both Grab and Uber got some much-needed breathing room following a closed-door Senate inquiry on Wednesday where the whole TNVS issue was tackled.
