So. Eyes on the board, everyone: on September 15, we can get a taste of that fire as “The Young and Reckless” takes place at B-Side in Makati.

Presented by events company Moonfire Inc., "The Young and Reckless" aims is to showcase bands that provide ample reason to believe in the local independent music scene.

The full roster: Faintlight, Blueboybitesback, Pull-it-surprise, Jejaview, Teenage Daydream, Sirens, Earth Movers and DJ Benjamin Burns.

They are but a fraction of the scene, but are definitely worth seeing and hearing, if only to open up new perspectives for the jaded local music fan. Perhaps, a sample.

As has noted, the event also plays host to up-and-coming Filipino brands such as Soule, a footwear label whose products are made of recycled products; Nick Automatic, a shirt brand known for its bold, colorful designs, and equally spirited apparel brands Gnarly, and Drone clothing, and Bring Rings.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Childsville Philippines, a child caring institution to educate and house orphaned and abused children.

“The Young and Reckless” starts at 8 PM at B-Side in Makati. Entrance fee is P150 (includes beer) and P350 (includes shirt and beer). Check out the event's video here.
