These Pinoys Just Won P40 Million In A 'DOTA 2' Tourney

A group of Pinoy pro gamers have done it again after standing victorious following the recently-concluded World Electronics Sports Games (WESG) 2016 in China last Sunday.

TNC Pro Team bagged the $800,000 grand prize (roughly P40 million) after besting over 6,000 teams in the online game Defense of the Ancients (DOTA).

Here’s the team’s ecstatic winning moment although they could’ve probably delivered a longer speech other than shouting “Puso Pinas!”


TNC’s win was a hard-fought one as they battled Danish team Cloud9 in a best of three series.

In the deciding game three, TNC was actually losing but consecutive well-executed plays allowed them to complete a classic come-from-behind victory.

Last year, TNC placed in the top 8 of the International DOTA 2 championships where they took home $500,000 (roughly P25 million).

Despite their success in international tournaments, TNC advised aspiring professional gamers to focus first on their studies before embarking into the lucrative but cutthroat world of e-sports.
