We try to do the best we can to help, because helping and giving it our best are the least we could do. But why is it that we still feel like we could be doing something more? Maybe it's because we're here, and they're there. This sucks.

As previously mentioned, the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda is a grim picture of destruction and death. The casualties are in the thousands; the damage in resources, in billions. If the news items we've been reading are accurate, things have gone chaotic in the cities of Ormoc and Tacloban, among others.

Local charitable organizations outpacing government agencies; people dying because of starvation and food stampedes; desperate survivors looting other people's houses; innocent women getting raped by nomads; guerilla groups ambushing trucks carrying relief goods: Is this what anarchy looks like?

Has the aftermath done us more harm than the actual typhoon? What's going on over there?

One of the country's finest photojournalists and FHM contributor, Luis Liwanag, recently trekked from Ormoc to Tacloban to help us answer these questions.
