The Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Fraternity has decided to stage its annual Oblation Run early in response to public outcry denouncing the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) last week.
“In the span of nine days, the Duterte administration has put to waste the epic heroism of many thousands who suffered and died under Marcos the dictator by allowing his burial at the country’s field of heroes,” a statement from APO read.
This year’s Oblation run is set just a few hours prior to the major anti-Marcos burial rally dubbed as the “Black Friday” protest.
The APO practices the annual tradition to highlight a social, political or national cause that is worth fighting for.

Meanwhile, GMA News Online reports the “Black Friday” protest will be held at the Rizal Park in Luneta, Manila at 4 p.m.
Other than here, thirteen other locations will join the movement with their own protest including Antipolo City, Batangas City, Bicol, Calamba, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo City, Isabela, Lucena City, Tarlac, Tuguegarao City and the University of the Philippines Los Baños campus.
Participants and those who couldn’t come but believe in the cause are urged to wear black for the day to show their opposition against the burial of Marcos at the LNMB.
