After a four-day manhunt, members of the Philippine Army on Friday nabbed Vhon Martin Tanto, the suspect in the road rage incident in Quiapo which ended in the death of cyclist Mark Vincent Garalde.
Tanto was arrested in Masbate around 11:40 a.m. on Friday and is currently being transported to Manila, GMA News reported.
Army Colonel Restituto Padilla Jr. told dzMM in an interview that Tanto, who was considered as armed and dangerous, voluntarily surrendered to authorities. He said that Tanto will be turned over to the police for proper investigation procedures.
Padilla also said that Tanto, an Army reservist with the rank of Private, had last been in active duty way back in January 2015.
Earlier, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada offered a P100,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Police authorities also stated that they wanted to get Tanto “dead or alive” after their deadline for his surrender lapsed on Wednesday.
