RUN AMC Presents: WALANG KURYENTE Acoustic Sessions
Nope, it’s not Earth Hour all over again. These boys just want to give you an acoustic night to remember; a chill evening with bands that are not necessarily known for speaking in hush tones.
The gig happens over at Capone’s Bar at A.Venue in Makati on April 15, Friday.
Featuring performances by Mayonnaise, Soapdish, Rubberpool, The Butchercons, Drei Paliza, The Discoball, Miromantiko, Cymo, All for Patricia, there’s definitely no lack of talent for the night, and it’s a night you shouldn’t miss. As the promoters of the event said, the “disconnection” starts at 9PM.
fUSEd: Street Smart, Modern Ballet
It’s always a treat to experience something new, and that’s what FUsEd offers you this weekend. This “dance exploration performance” attempts to merge two different genres of dance—hip hop and modern dance—and unite them into one powerful expression.
With choreography by Gerald Mercado and featuring dance scholars of E-Dance Theater. The event happens at CCP at on Friday, April 15, with performances at 3 PM and 7 PM.

Día Internacional del Libro (International Book Day)
The Instituto Cervantes de Manila celebrates the Día Internacional del Libro (International Book Day) on Saturday, April 16 at the Instituto Cervantes located at 855 T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita, Manila.
The book festival will feature over 4,000 book titles, including children and young adult titles, dictionaries, novels, fiction and non-fiction titles that can be had for as low as 20 pesos. It’s indeed paradise for book lovers.
And it’s not just going to be books, the festival’s other highlights include an all-day feast of Spanish food with free wine tasting, film showings, games, poetry recital, and free Spanish classes. Best of all, admission to all Día del libro activities is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Bloomfields: Hit The Ground Running
Retro-rock purveyors, The Bloomfields will be releasing their new album Hit The Ground Running on April 16, 2011 at The Block, SM City North EDSA. The new album features 10 original tracks that showcase the band’s talent and maturity. It includes the single "Express Highway," released mid March, and is now climbing onto major radio station's hit charts.
Hit the Ground Running will be available in all SM Music and Video stores. Also watch out for The Bloomfields' SM Mall Tours around the country.
The Script Live in Manila
Another week, another international act. This weekend, it’s The Script, a concert that any rock fan is sure to have an awesome time in. Catch them live over at Araneta Coliseum on Saturday April 16, 8 PM, as they play their hits "We Cry," "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," "Breakeven," "Talk You Down" and "Before the Worst".

Hijo at Route 196
Catch the premiere of new super band Hijo over at Route 196 on Saturday April 16.
Hijo is the new band featuring former Bamboo members Ira Cruz, Vic Mercado, and Nathan Azarcon, keyboardist Jay Ordunez and guitar player Junji Lerma.
Currently recording their first album, this is your chance to hear them before most everyone else does. The gig will also be featuring Goodleaf, The Butcherons, Caliph8 + Malekule and the Radioactive Sago Project. Gig starts at 9pm.
Dualist: Taken by Cars Album Launch
Looks like The Bloomfields aren’t alone with this album launching business this weekend. Electropop indie outfit Taken By Cars will be launching theirs too, and it’s called Dualist. The gig happens on April 15 at Amber Ultralounge, The Fort Strip, Taguig, and also features Flying Ipis, The Camerawalls, Pedicab, Techy Romantics, and DJ Marie Garcia.
Entrance fee is P600 inclusive of two drinks from 10:30 p.m. onwards.
The 13th Tour of the Fireflies: Bike Revolution
On Sunday, April 17, you can catch The 13th Tour of the Fireflies: Bike Revolution, a bike tour in Metro Manila dedicated to clean air, happening from 6 a.m. to 12 noon. Venue for assembly is at Tiendesitas, Frontera Verde, C5 Road, Pasig City.
Around 8,000 to 10,000 bikers are expected to participate in the event, which covers a 42-kilometer distance from Pasig to San Juan, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, and Pasay.
