The days are getting hotter as summer approaches, and we’re only too proud to say that we’ll be part of the heatwave that is March. [firstpara] It’s our birthday after all, you know! But before all that, here’s some events you can check out before the great big bash that is FHM X.

Film Screening: Pontypool at Mogwai
On March 5 and 6, Mogwai Cinematheque will be screening Bruce Mcdonald’s scarefest Pontypool. Considered to be one of the best horror movies of 2009, the film is definitely not for the easily freaked.

The film is about morning show host Grant Mazzy, who talks about his own perspectives on the things happening in his little town in Ontario, Canada. For a while, there was nothing too unusual to report, that is until a strange riot breaks out in town, stirring things up. Reports of people beginning to act in strange ways begin to circulate, and it isn’t too long before Grant experiences the oddities firsthand.

Screenings start at 9 p.m.

On March 5, Saguijo plays host to SonicLogo.TV featuring Abby Asistio, Ailene&The Monkeys, Caminos, Carlos Castano, Julianne, Layag, Lovecore, Nicole+Carlo and Out Of Body Special.

Over at Mag:net Katipunan it’s a Wagon Trip production featuring The Haneps, Helen, Funcity Boys, Lochness, Ivan Theory and Rosco. Finishing off the night are The Jerks who will be playing at 70s Bistro.

On March 6, Poubelle International, David Bowie Knives, The Bernadette’s, Halik Ni Gringo and Twin Lobster will be playing at Saguijo. Meanwhile, it’s Acoustic Hour at Mag:net Katipunan featuring Johnoy at 730 PM.

At 930 PM, Mechanical Poetry presents Summer Love featuring 1508, Apes, Go Green with Envy, Oatmeal Ordeal and The Reich Arrest. At 70s Bistro, Coffee Break Island will be playing, while Cubism takes the stage over at Route 196.
