Apparently, that fugly Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) logo that is currently circulating on social media isn't a final design.

"Kumbaga sa marketing aspect, PEG lang yan. The POC (Philippine Olympic Committee) didn't even have an official statement about it," POC secretary general Patrick Gregorio was quoted by SPIN.ph. "Part lang ng presentation natin yan to promote and showcase the Philippines as a sports tourism destination."

The image, which depicts 11 rings—representing the 11 participating countries—that are intertwined to form the Philippine map, has garnered flak online for its supposed lack of creativity. It was presented with the possible mascot for the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for our hosting of the biennial meet.

Despite the clarifications made, the internet was quick to respond to the whole fiasco in the form of memes and edits, including famous brands which jumped on the bandwagon and took advantage of the free viral marketing.
