Despite the House speakership drama and the nearly one-and-a-half hour delay, President Rodrigo Duterte was able to deliver his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) successfully.

Clocking in at a little over 48 minutes, 32 rounds of applause, and zero expletives, his speech was read almost verbatim and covered topics that were pretty much expected including responsible mining and the TRAIN Law. Perhaps the highlight of SONA 2018 was his message to those who oppose his drug war: "Your concern is human rights, mine if human life."

Many deemed the annual address "boring," especially with the motherhood statements and a filtered Duterte—still, a few Pinoys online found some parts of it rather amusing.
