There’s been a lot of hype surrounding a really hot sneaker war in the Metro but before you jump the gun, it’s not about your usual limited releases like Air Jordans, Kobes, or Yeezys. Truth is, the Pinoy sneakerhead community is going crazy over some local ripoffs courtesy of our proud politicians.

We’d really like to say we’re kidding but that’s not the case since Makati City’s former mayor, Jejomar Binay, started this whole “local sneaker culture” a few years back.

To be fair, these local sneakers actually look pretty good. All we can say is we’re left wondering when Quezon City’s Air-Bert 1s (or perhaps Bistek Boosts) and Valenzuela’s Wi-Ning Way of Win would drop before the resellers and hypebeasts start hoarding them.
