Is this really happening? Are you for real?
Well, what do you think? Ha ha!

We think we spent years waiting for this chance and this is just too good
to be true! We hope you’re just as pleased as we are with the outcome. I have nothing but positive feedback. The makeup artist and stylists were the first I’ve worked with that didn’t make me feel inadequate and did an awesome job. The photographer was professional and takes amazing photos. Everyone that was present was very kind and didn’t make it uncomfortable. I hope I get to work with everyone again one day.

We look forward to that, too! So is this your first time in the country?
It’s actually not my first time. I’ve come before to visit my family with my mom and sister.

And to what or whom do we owe your, well, “surprise” visit here?
My bighearted friends! They let me tag along on their trip and showed me around! And then Wendell of Vans hooked me up with FHM. I’ve been trying to come over for a long time now but I didn’t know anyone and they were kind enough to help me out.

Do you like it here? Have you been able to roam around?
Only a little bit. I’ve only been to Pampanga and Boracay besides Manila. But I love the food! Everything is so mmmm…sarapppp… delicious! Ha ha! Almost as good as my mommy makes it.

Glad to hear that and we hope to meet your mom someday. Is there anything about Manila that you find odd, though?
Um, security guards carrying rifles in the mall. I tried to grab his rifle and the security guard laughed at me and said, “Don’t even try it.”

The guards here are pretty protective of their rifles, you know.
Ha ha ha!

Let’s talk about your career in the US. How did it all start?
It was very gradual. I started out doing small fashion shows when I was younger and decided to get into import modeling as promotion for an Asian club I bartended at in Canada. About five years ago, a Filipino photographer named Steve Bitanga, who is a cofounder of a website called www.babeblvd.com, found me working there during the weekend of a car show and asked me to do a shoot. A year later, he brought me to work in Los Angeles. I decided to stay in the US and pursue a more expanded modeling career.

Then your fame spilled over to the Philippines—and there wasn’t even Facebook or Twitter back then! How’d you do that?
MySpace? Ha ha! Just kidding! I’m still trying to get more recognition but I think I owe it to the people who support me and like me. They spread my name across the globe. With that, I think it’s a mix of luck, the Internet and hard work. I hope everyone knows that I’m grateful for their help!
