What’s it like being part of the World Poker Tour’s Royal Flush Girls?
I’ve been doing it for about three years. We get to travel to a lot of awesome locations, both in the States and internationally. That’s my favorite part about the job.
Do you have any poker gambits you can teach us?
I wouldn’t say I’m an aficionado of the game, but I have learned a lot from working with the WPT. Honestly I’m an amateur, ha ha! One of the things you should do, though, is pay attention. When you do that you’ll be able to read some of your opponent’s tells. You’ll learn if they’re bluffing or in it to play. It will give you an advantage.
What does being a Royal Flush Girl entail? Are there any specific duties you have to follow through on?
Well, we take viewers behind the scenes. At each stop, during the show, you’ll see us girls taking either the players or the fans to different locations for different activities. When they’re off the felt, we tour them around and show them what the WPT has to offer in different locations. We do interviews and hang out with the fans. Basically, we’re ambassadors for the brand.
You’re half-Korean and half-Irish. What would you say is the most Korean thing about you?
My temper! Ha ha!
Do Koreans have a very short temper?
Yes. But the Irish do too. So I guess food and I like to drink too. That’s both very Irish and very Korean. Wow, that sounds horrible! I’m always angry and I like to drink!
So would we lose to you in a drinking contest?
Oh yes! I would drink anyone under the table. I’ll even put a bet on it. I’m good because I can hold my own.
