What made you want to take up sociology communications?
I’ve always thought of myself as a vocal person. Everywhere you look, there’s communication. Sociology just makes you do things that are exactly opposite from communications. I like reading about how people think and to me that’s very interesting. So something about that just drew me in.
You read people. So with guys…
I read them! I feel sorry for guys who approach me because I’m automatically reading their non-verbal communication and their vibes. I always tell my girl friends this: You can always tell people’s intentions with how they approach you. I’m always reading people, I play off their vibes.
What do you plan to do after completing your degree?
I kind of have my foot in all kinds of things, like dancing. I don’t really keep it to one thing because I’m still trying to figure it out. I want to be able to love what I do and not have to feel like it’s a job.
So you’re studying sociology and communications…to dance?
Yes, I know! I’m going to be a very educated dancer! Ha ha ha. No, I’m also thinking about going into the marketing field but I’ve always loved to dance, it’s good to know that I can do not just one thing.
How would you describe yourself?
I like to read. Actually, I’m really quite nerdy. No one wants to believe that, but I’m really into reading, school, all that kind of stuff. I also like to travel. I’m very laid back. I like to meet different people from all walks of life. Some models think they have to keep themselves on a different level, I don’t. I like to think of myself as approachable.
But you’ve got time to work out, right?
I swear! Only time I work out is when I’m dancing. It’s a great workout. I’m a go-go dancer in San Diego. We call it late night cardio. You know, I’m so busy I can’t go to the gym. So dancing has been a great form of workout for me.
Wait, so you dance to exercise or do it for a living?
I do that for a living.
What do you wear when you’re dancing?
I dance at Stingaree in San Diego, also Barfly in San Diego. We always have different costumes, we have themes. School girl is so cliché and common but it’s always fun and easy, you know what I mean? People always love that!
What do you think is the sexiest part of your body?
I hate these questions! Ha ha ha! I would say my legs. Just because from being a Filipina, you’re not really used to seeing tall, long-legged girls. When I was younger I was, like, why am I so tall and lanky? I wanted to be small and petite and cute. But now, from playing sports and dancing and stuff, I always get compliments for my legs. So now I’m learning to embrace them!
