Here is a woman who, if it wasn’t for her fastidious stint in this year’s new batch of Premiere Vixens, we would have never gotten the chance to see. Because, Ayumi Sogawa did not even plan on becoming an FHM babe to begin with.
If it was up to her, Ayumi would pursue her unlikely but imposing day job as a graphic designer. If it was up to her, she would, no judgment intended, spend a good fraction of her time investing on the extra-terrestrial, admiring every bit of alien information the government allows us to know. Her words, not ours.
But fate blessed her with a scorching body, and here she is, our FHM Online Babe this July. While her artful talents and passion for the peculiar do belong somewhere else, we figure those sharp eyes, striking façade, and astounding female form is just right where it should be, right in our pages.
If it was up to us, we’d reckon we may have found the perfect balance of physical splendor and cerebral competence. We’d reckon that this month, we may have found ourselves a candidate for the perfect babe.
Are you full-blooded Japanese?
My dad is Japanese-Russian and my mom is a Filipina. I go back and forth to Japan and the Philippines.
What takes up most of your time?
I have lots of pets in the house – I have two dogs, one cat, one turtle, two hamsters, and a rabbit. So I take care of them, watch TV, and then I do graphic designing. That takes up the whole day most of the time because I get mental block sometimes.
How did you come across graphic design?
I love doing multimedia stuff like Photoshop, and I like gaming too. I love Final Fantasy, Left 4 Dead, and Biohazard – so I wanted to have my own game one day, like mixing all those stuff together. I studied 3d animation so I incorporate that in my work as well.
Are you an avid gamer from way back?
No, before we weren’t allowed to play video games. We didn’t have TV, and when we did had one it was black and white. As in you have to slap the TV to get a signal. So whatever I didn’t have before now binabawi ko talaga.
Those are games about zombies you just mentioned. You have no problem seeing gore?
I actually like seeing gore. I like Final Destination, Friday the 13th, and I like Aliens. I love any movie with aliens. I even watch the History Channel’s Ancient Astronauts.
Are you an avid believer of the paranormal?
I believe that God is an alien or something like that.
Now that’s just interesting. More details please.
Gosh, where do I start – I think because I’m very influenced by the ancient aliens. I’m not really a religious person ever since I was a kid. I’m not a big fan of the church. My dad’s Buddhist kasi and my mom’s a Roman Catholic. I think all the gods – from Jesus to Buddha to the Norse gods – all of them came down from the sky. Like with Jesus, maybe they saw a star and they didn’t know how to interpret that so they labeled it as an angel or a god instead.
